How to prepare for GATE 2018 in last days

For the last month, following things should prepare for GATE 2018.

• Solve at least 5 Year previous GATE papers.
• Give at least 4 full length test of any academy. (I would suggest that join the online test by GATEOnlineTest.com  @199/- Rs. Join Now).
• Revise formulas and theoretical stuffs as quickly as possible.
• Make good time management strategy for exam.
• Download GATE calculator in your phone as well as in your laptop.
• Identify all possible calculations mistakes before it really happens ( i .e. No calculations mistake in exam).

As time management is one of the key aspects to crack any examination. Here I am giving you some important point to be noted while preparing for exam and during the examination.

• Preparing for exam

1. Plan your study in such a manner the no subject should be left.
2. Keep studying parallel subjects.
3. Revise your completed subjects/ topics when you have free time or get boarded.
4. In between your preparation, give some full length test. So that you get an idea that how much you retain and also you will get idea about the topics which you have not prepared yet. Means what are some important points to be covered.
5. Solve GATE previous year questions with your subjects.
6. For 15 mark Aptitude, if you give 10–15 full length test and in that if you score 10–11 marks on an average. You do not need to prepare separately.

• During Examination

As I have already suggest you to give at least 10–15 mock test to prepare well to achieve time management and reduce calculations mistakes.

1. Here I divide your 180 minute slot in 4 divisions.
   1. 20–25 minutes for aptitude part. Which contains 10 Questions(Q) of 15 Marks(M). As it is really scoring, so I had give 5 minutes additional. Preferably 15 minutes are sufficient.
   2. 40–45 minutes for 1 M questions. Which contains 25 Q and 25 M. The question which takes more than 2.5 to 3 minutes, but you can get it correctly. I would suggest leave it and solve it in last available minutes. (Now you have covered 40 M in 60 to 70 M)
   3. 70–80 minutes for 2 M questions. Which contains 30 Q and 60 M. Same strategy followed as suggested in section (b). If time required to solve question is more than 3.5 to 4 minutes, please leave it for future. (By this method, you have covered your whole in 130 to 140 minutes and remaining time is about 30 minutes. Here I have considered that you have left some 8 to 10 long questions which are either long or new)
2. Now, come to main aspect. By giving mock tests, you have to identify how much time required to solve each question. Please, be alert for time consuming questions. “Don’t take a question as challenge, even if you give 10 minutes to harder questions of 2 marks and probably it is correct, than it will give 2 marks only. Better to solve 3–4 simple questions in that time frame. May be you get 6 to 8 marks.”
