GATE exam conducted by IITs & IISc on a circular period. Every institute get chance to conduct GATE exam once in the cycle it’s 8 Year cycle. According to this it’s IIT Delhi’s turn so GATE 2020 is being conducted by IIT Delhi. You can check year wise gate organizing institute here. Before this GATE 2012 was conducted by IIT Delhi. So many student thinks that GATE 2020 paper will similar as of IIT Delhi GATE 2012 Paper . It’s very natural thought but it’s not true. Actually GATE paper pattern does not depends or set by the organizing institute. The process is that GATE oraganizing institute request different set of papers from IITs. Each IITs submits a different set of papers to organising institute. Now after collecting all set of papers organising committee selects a common paper out of those.
So, truth is GATE paper is neither set by a single professor nor a single institute & the organising institute only moderate the process of paper setting.
